Apparel Buyer

Apparel Buyer for Soho Apparel Group Inc.,

Salary: $94,786/yr

- Job Requirements:
AA Degree in Business Administration or Marketing.
2+ years relevant experience.
Travel to China twice a year.

- Job Duties:

Buy apparels for wholesale from suppliers, negotiate purchasing contract terms regarding prices, quantities, quality, style and shipment date.
Place the orders with suppliers, follow up with the completion of the orders.
Inspect the merchandise to make sure meets our company's quality requirements for fabric, color and styles of the clothes.
Identify current and emerging trends in fashion industry and coordinate with our company's fashion designer and marketing sales persons to make sure the purchased merchandise meet their expectations.
Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers.

Apparel Financial Analyst

The hired individual will perform the following duties:

  1. Assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting and content organizations with Python software for the company;

  2. Support the accounting team of the company with monthly accounting close process.

  3. Work with the Content Production Team to produce monthly and quarterly internal reporting and make insightful analysis of variance for important company strategy decisions.

  4. Support the company's 3rd party apparel sales by providing variance analysis with Matlab software and participating in strategy discussions.

  5. Establish business relationships with the Apparel and Content Production Team and be a key Apparel Financial Analyst contact for the broader teams of the company.

  6. Proactively identify key trends, potential risks, and opportunities across the apparel and content businesses

  7. Work to improve the performance efficiency of the company through Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) financial modeling with Excel VBA.

  8. Create ad-hoc analysis for cross functional leaders and management team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Finance;

  • 12 months of work experience as financial analyst;

  • Proficiency in Prezi; Python; MATLAB; Microsoft Excel (VBA & Dashboard creation).
